If you liked Cars, the sequel is going to be a similarly enjoyable ride. Pixar's Brad Lewis and Jay Shuster previewed Cars 2 at the AutoWeek Design Forum in a dual keynote address on Thursday that offered insights into the impressive depth and creativity behind the film. TOP GEAR'S producer has apologised after broadcasting a "light-hearted" joke by Jeremy Clarkson that sparked a complaint of racism. The episode, which was filmed in Burma and Thailand and shown in March, featured a scene where the motoring show's stars built a bridge over the River Kwai and as an Asian man walked over it Clarkson said: "That is a proud moment, but there's a slope on it."

We know that Land Rover are on a quest to reduce the weight of their offerings, and the all aluminium 2013 Range Rover is the first real evidence with weight drops of up to 420kg for the new 3.0 litre diesel. But it looks like the next generation Land Rover Discovery – which is due in 2014 and will be the Discovery 5 – is going to eclipse even the huge weight loss of the new Range Rover.
